ONLINE CLASSES
The entire world is currently experiencing major challenges and hardship; including the restriction of people learning from one another in a face to face environment. We have unfortunately had to close the doors to our classroom and ocean sessions for now, however we want to keep people inspired; keep pushing them to learn more about themselves and the marine environment. So to keep peoples minds and bodies healthy as the world work things out together, our team will be organising online teaching sessions to keep you busy, happy and healthy.
These live format, video streaming sessions will cover a number of different topics, from breath-hold physiology through to coastal geomorphology, hydrology and ecology. The classes will lean heavily on information you would learn during our freediving courses, with practical components directed by our instructors. We aim to have regular routine based training sessions, as well as one off classes on specific subjects.
Depending on the class, you will be required to gather things from around the house or at the supermarket to assist in the exercises. We plan to promote respiratory health throughout the classes, so will be constructing routines for breath strengthening. There is a strong association with breath-hold psychology and positive stress management and we plan to bring this to the forefront of our programs.
We know these times are difficult for everyone, and as we try to keep our own instructors employed we would like to say thank you for your continued support. To show our gratitude, The Underwater Academy will honour the price of your online class as a discount on any future freediving course you choose to book with us (to a maximum of $75). Simply keep your personalised confirmation email for your booking and forward this to us when you want to book your freediving course.
